转轴是电动机传递转矩、带动机械负载的主要零件，它应具有足够的强度来传递电动机的功率，并要有足够的刚度，使电动机在运行时不发生振动及不使定、转子相擦。
转轴如使用不当，可能造成损坏。例如拆卸皮带轮时，不用专用工具，随意乱打乱敲；安装时皮带轮或联轴器不在同一直线上，都可能造成轴的弯曲或其他故障。
1、轴头弯曲的检查
把需要检查的转子夹在车床上，用千分表或划针盘测量，轴头弯曲如已超过允许范围就要加以矫正。矫正可在压力机上进行，将轴弯曲处加压矫直。矫正后的表面应磨光。
2、键槽磨损的修理
键槽磨损较严重时，可用电焊在磨损处进行堆焊，然后退火消除焊接应力，车削、重铳键槽。如键槽磨损不大，可将磨粉处布加宽一些，加宽量不应超过原键槽宽度的15%。
2、键槽磨损的修理
轴颈轻微磨损时，可采用电镀法在轴颈表面镀一层铬。然后磨削至规定的尺寸。也可利用金属喷镀法在轴颈上薄薄地喷上一层金属，将喷过金属的轴颈车磨削至规定尺寸。轴颈磨损较严重时，可能造成定、转子相擦，因此需在轴颈磨损处用电焊堆焊，再退火消除焊接应力，然后切削磨光至配合尺寸。应该指出，使用堆焊方法修理轴颈可能造成转轴变形，好采用镶套的办法修理磨损严重的轴颈。如转轴已断裂，需要用同样的钢号更换新轴。
