随着技术的发展，汽车齿轮油的使用寿命也在发生不断的变化。先前的汽车齿轮油一般在四万公里开始更换一次，如今由于技术的发展和汽车零配件生产规格提高，所以使得对各类油品的要求也提高。
举个简单的例子，在豪华汽车加入价格一般的齿轮油，那么对于汽车的内部的齿轮肯定不好。至于什么时候更换汽车齿轮油，这个需要车主根据具体的情况，进行综合多角度的综合考虑，从而提高更换的周期。
通常可以选择在五到六万公里应该更换一次齿轮油，这样也可以有效提高齿轮传递发动机功率的效率。
润滑油更换步骤：
在更换齿轮油的之前，要进行暖车的准备，从而使得车保持在正常温度。
第一步：拆掉齿轮
我们应当首先找出里程表线在变速箱上的位置，然后小心翼翼地拆除里程表线轴盖，再慢慢抽动用塑胶小齿轮。
第二步：放旧齿轮油
拆除变速箱齿轮油放油塞，放净原本的老旧齿轮油，然后拧紧放油螺塞。一定要将里面的陈旧机油放干净，防止污染新加入的齿轮油。
第三步：加入齿轮油
然后从自里程表轴线孔处开始加注齿轮油，加入的时候要注意加入齿轮油油面位置以不超F线，同时加注的时候，要尽量小心防止油溢到外边。
第四步：重新安装
将已经拆掉了齿轮，要小心翼翼地进行安装，最好按照操作说明书安装，可不能出现少安装零配件的情况。
